Chairman and CEO of ExxonMobil (world's largest energy company).
He has broad experience, has mastered complex negotiations and has deep understanding of geopolitics.
He has built close relationships with many world leaders by closing massive deals across Eurasia and the Middle East on behalf of ExxonMobil.
He signals a desire to ease Washington’s estrangement with Russia.
Trump promised smart deals for US and significant change of US foreign policy against many countries.
(2) Treasury: Steven Mnuchin, 53
An entrepreneur (launched Dune Capital Management), a Wall Street investor(was a partner at Goldman Sachs) and a Hollywood producer.
Has deep understanding of finance and markets,
Served as the Trump campaign’s national finance chairman,
He has been in favour of lowering taxes and lifting regulations which are key policies Trump promised to enforce.
(3) Defense: James Mattis "mad dog", 66
A retired four star Marine general, Mattis commanded US forces in the Middle East and Southwest Asia from 2010 to 2013.
He has particular interest on challenges posed by Iran.
He would have to get a congressional waiver from a law that bars generals from serving as defense secretary for seven years after leaving active duty.
Trump promised peace through strength and make the country strong again.
(4) Attorney General (Justice): Jeff Sessions, 69
Former Alabama Attorney General
He has been tough on illegal immigration.
He is expected to restore integrity of the office of the AG and improve race relations.
Sessions is an advocate of 'law and order' just like Trump.
(5) Homeland Security: John Kelly, 66
The retired Marine general most recently led the US Southern Command, which covers US military operations in Central and South America.
He is expected to be very tough on illegal immigration and the illicit drugs trade.
Trump promised to end illegal immigration and remove the drug cartels and criminal gangs from the streets to make the country safe again.
(6) Commerce: Wilbur Ross, 79
Private equity firm owner and billionaire, Ross is best known for buying failing steel and coal firms and selling them for profit.
He was once known as the "king of bankruptcy" for his history of investing in such businesses.
Trump has promised to revive the steel industry and put miners back to work.
(7) Education: Betsy DeVos, 58
A wealthy activist and a champion of alternatives to local government schools.
Advocates the use of tax credits and vouchers to allow parents to opt out of the public school system.
Trump promised to bring education local and allow for school choice.
(8) Health and Human Services: Tom Price, 62
The Georgia lawmaker and former orthopedic surgeon.
He is a robust critic of Pres. Barack Obama's signature health care reform law, the Affordable Care Act.
Trump promised to repeal and replace ObamaCare.
(9) Housing and Urban Development: Ben Carson, 65
The retired neurosurgeon and onetime rival to Trump for the Republican presidential nomination.
He is so far the only African American named to Trump's cabinet.
He will be tasked with turning around America's troubled inner cities.

(10) Labor: Andrew Puzder, 66
The chief executive of CKE Restaurants, which owns fast food chains Carl's Jr and Hardee's.
He believes in raising the minimum wage to a level that doesn't cost jobs.
He knows how to create jobs.
Trump promised to create millions of jobs including bringing back jobs that have been shifted abroad.
(11) Transportation: Elaine Chao, 63
The Taiwan-born former US labor secretary under president George W. Bush and served as the deputy secretary of transportation in his administration.
She was the first Asian-American woman to serve in the cabinet.
Trump promised to rebuild American infrastructure.
(12) Energy: Rick Perry, 66
The former Texas governor is a strong critic of the energy department.
A US Air Force veteran.
Perry publicly supports the proposed 1,172-mile underground Dakota Access Pipeline.
Obama administration blocked the Dakota Access Pipeline easement through Lake Oahe. The incoming Trump administration has said it will review the decision.
Mr. Trump said he would intervene if the matter is not resolved before he is inaugurated.
Mr. Trump and Perry also support 1,179-mile Keystone XL pipeline from Canada to Nebraska.
Mr. Trump promised to grow the extractive industry including shale oil and gas and clean coal to create millions of high paying jobs and make the country energy independent.
