Hii nondo imekaa vizuri, nimepata ilmu hapo kwa John Mashaka..Foreigners have discovered that the mis-educated Tanzania’s political elites are more interested in nourishing their Swiss-bank accounts, than dealing with the plight of poverty that has engulfed the country.

Truth be told hasa hapo palipobolidiwa. IN my opinion sababu no moja why we are poor ni UBINAFSI WA WANASIASA WANAOTUONGOZA NDIO MAANA TUMEKUWA NA EPA, RICHMOND NA MENGINEYO KIBAO.

Here is one of them: ....Tanzanians are very lazy. This is enough evidence, just chunguza utaona kuwa Mashaka is right on the point japo kuna wataokuja hapa kulalamika ili wasikike tu.

Ninasema haya kwa niaba ya Mashaka pia, kuwa silimia kubwa ya watanzania ni wavivu this excluding those who are dedicated to their jobs and know what they are doing. I assure you, watu wetu wengi sana ni wavivu wa kufikiri, kila mtu badala ya kufanya kazi anatafuta loophole elsewhere, na ndiyo maana makampuni mengi ya nje hawataki kuwaajiri watanzania for they are told by their insiders kuwa watanzania ni domo tu na wavivu. Mbona hii inajulikana kwani hata Mkapa aliwahi kutamka hadharani hii kitu.

Mkuu,
Wewe angalau unatumia maneno "asilimia kubwa ya ..." yeye kasema "we ... are poor because we are lazy".

Mashaka may be proving parts of his very point that some Tanzanians are lazy (including himself) by posing such a general and unqualified statement without so much as a controversial research to back him up.

George Kahangwa is only employing basic scholarship of the highest caliber by asking for supporting evidence.

It may very well be the case that the problem with Tanzanians is not laziness per se, but rather, bad leadership and lack of education. The reason why educated Tanzanians who slip out perform very well.

How could Mashaka claim that Tanzanians lack access to education and on the same breath blame them for not being able to do things which require an education?

In this case Mashaka is blaming the victim.

Oversimplification and overgeneralization are forms of laziness too, and by that, Mashaka is proving himself just as lazy -if not lazier- as the unfortunates he is blaming.

At least they can say they did not get a ride to Wall St (where on Wall St is this fellow anyway? I roam that kindergaten from the estuary on FDR, Cipriani, to the graveyard by Trinity on Broadway.Never heard of him.)

Or is it "Wall St. South" in Charlotte? Or just the conceptual "Wall St." as in "high finance"?

I'd like to bust his bubble face to face one day for being such an uppity condescending house negro.

Muwe na adabau. Tanzania sio maskini.

One the same token aangalie wanafunzi huko vijijini saa ngapi wanaamka kuifata shule maili kadhaa, na mwishowe wengine hata ajira hawapati.

Magari mengi njia hakuna yaani politically Tanzania kwa sasa aina uongozi kabisa na hata siasa za humu ndani sasa unaanza kuona ni za elites tu kugombea mkate not the real politics aiming to empower its people and building a stronger nation.

Ukweli wenyewe ni kwamba tunarudi palepale kwenye justification ya mzungu the main course of poverty is ignorance and our leaders are full of it on that token the nation will be poor for a long while as long the laws remain lax and accountability is ignored no wonder they discuss religion and homo-staffs in our parliament that should alert anybody of their wit..

Why TZ remains poor despite vast resources

By John Mashaka (email the author)

Source The Citizen

Tanzania is one of the poorest countries in terms of income per capita despite being one of the world’s richest when it comes to natural resources. It is the third richest in the entire continent behind South Africa and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Tanzania’s massive potential and endless opportunities notwithstanding, the country remains donor dependent, with its people living on the edge of poverty. Many theories and myths have been out there for quite some time as to why Tanzanians are so poor. In fact, we Tanzanians are poor because we are lazy.

We like easy ways out of our hardships. Our culture and educational system, cultivate our minds to seek shortcuts out of our difficulties. We do not engage in a realistic sense of determining cause and effect of issues affecting our lives and society.

We are economically poor as a country because of our long dependence on foreign hand-outs, which have in turn enslaved our minds through a sense of entitlement. Despite abundant wealth, many African countries have made it routine for Washington and London to subsidize their budgets. We are remaining economically disadvantaged because of an enemy called corruption, a product of greed and selfishness. Tanzania lacks people with clear patriotic-sense

One would think that, with its strategic geographical location and access to the Indian Ocean, Tanzania would be an economic power. Others think that with its vast arable land and water sources, Tanzania would never experience food shortage. With its national parks, and other historical treasures, Tanzania would be a Mecca of world tourism and Africa’s economic power. We are dead wrong. Tanzania poverty paradox and potential to become an economic power is slowly slipping away.

Majority of Tanzanians do not have access to quality education required to open up their minds into knowledge base, and equip them with opportunities to explore, and discover other endless possibilities necessary to create jobs and put people to work. Inaccessibility to quality education is creating cyclic-generational poverty among millions of Tanzanians, which further complicates the untangling of the poverty paradox.

Foreigners have realized that our leaders and intellectuals are mis-educated, and are therefore handing us candy-bars at will in exchange for our resources. They are exploiting the cracks within our poor education, culture of laziness and greed, and lack of patriotism within our leadership structure to strip us of our natural wealth.

Foreigners have discovered that the mis-educated Tanzania’s political elites are more interested in nourishing their Swiss-bank accounts, than dealing with the plight of poverty that has engulfed the country. This is the reason why Tanzania is poor and will continue to be poor

Tanzania is getting poorer because we are not receptive of new revolutionary- minds that would foster economic progress. The system wide kleptocrats are not welcoming of new revolutionary brain-power. Their ineptness makes them feel vulnerable and threatened, because they are products of a culture that lacks work discipline.

The late Dr Ferdinand Masau, founder of the Tanzania Heart Institute (THI), is the sad and tragic case of how far Tanzania has to go to accept a wave of new minds that will change the country and its resources into a trillion dollar economy .

This is Tanzania cause of poverty made simple masterpiece, i think now everybody including the slow learner JK will understand why this country is poor.

unaleta propaganda za magamba, we can not get there while the insane driver is driving in the wrong way, we need a turnaround artist otherwise we will lost forever. CCM need to be replaced with anything possible.

Mashaka wrote his take on Tanzania based on how he sees the problem, and I do support him because I have lived and see it myself. Those personal attacks directed to him are another issues which I am not a part of. I pretty much understand why people are turning against him by attacking him personally. Tanzanians are like that, wengi wetu don't like hearing the truth, whenever someone says the truth he or she becomes a public enemy number one. Mashaka's ony problem was when he stated that Tanzanians are lazy. It's true but not all of us, however, the majority are lazy and are incompetent that's why they are busy looking/searching for loopholes in every sector.

Mashaka wrote his take on Tanzania based on how he sees the problem,

And I pointed out a basic weakness of his approach.

and I do support him

But you have not addressed the major weakness I pointed out.

because I have lived and see it myself.

Lived where? See what?

Those personal attacks

What personal attack? I was flattering him to even post something, why are you not answering the impersonal points?

directed to him are another issues which I am not a part of.

You have surely made yourself part of now.

I pretty much understand why people are turning against him by attacking him personally.

Pray tell.

Tanzanians are like that, wengi wetu don't like hearing the truth,

You are giving evidence that you and Mashaka are cut from the same cloth. "Tanzanians are like that", is this something in their DNA? The water they drink? How can you say something so general like that?

"Wengi wetu" ni wangapi? Umefanya research gani? Watanzania wangekuwa hawataki kusikia habari hizi huyu Mashaka angekuwa anapumua kweli?

whenever someone says the truth he or she becomes a public enemy number one.

John Mnyika said a very damning truth, he called the president of Tanzania dhaifu. He is hardly public enemy number one, what gives?

Mashaka's ony problem was when he stated that Tanzanians are lazy.

"Only" problem? Is this vast overgeneralizing insult categorized as "only"?

What's next? Are you going to excuse a killer because "his only problem is that he is a killer"? Do not belittle the implication of that statement with an "only".

It's true but not all of us,

Apparently you and Mashaka are part of those lazy Tanzanians, by succumbing to overgeneralizations and oversimplifications.

however, the majority are lazy

How did you reach that conclusion?

and are incompetent

Are they incompetent because they are lazy or lazy because they are incompetent?

that's why they are busy looking/searching for loopholes in every sector.

Mashaka and yourself are the ones looking for the loophole of a simple narrative to answer a complex question.

Does this include Natalia?

Natalia is industrious enough to bag herself the good Dr. Rutherford, so I doubt she is exactly lazy or poor, she must be talented in some way, even if obscure to the uninitiated if you get my drift 🙂

I was looking for supportive evidence in your article

Mr. George
I think evidence to ascertain my claim that our people are poor is all over you; around you. It seems some are mis-contruing my "Mis-education" terminology. No matter how brilliant one is, if you do not use your education to save your society, you are mis-educated because one's education should be a key to saving his society.

Truly educated individual would not sign a dubious contract he knows is going to cause harm to his people. Will come back and respond to each one that has doubted my opinion
