Tarime. The government has appointed a team of experts to work on the controversial levies on electronic money transactions, the Minister of Finance and Planning said yesterday.

Dr Mwigulu Nchemba told a public rally Sirari, Tarime District, that the government would continue charging the levies on electronic money transfers and other taxes, noting, however, that some changes will be effected to reflect the recommendations of the ruling party on the matter.

“Following the party’s recommendations, the government has appointed a team of experts which has already started undertaking a comprehensive analysis of the matter,” he said, and urged Tanzanians to be patient.

The experts are looking at the best way of collecting the revenue.

Dr Nchemba said the team of experts will then come up with “the most friendly way” of collecting the revenue in a manner that will put into consideration the interests of Tanzanians.

Sisi hatuleti watu kwa malori, kwetu watu wanakuja kwa ridhaa yao na sio kwa vitisho vya dola.

Wanajifichia tu kwenye maagizo ya chama, lakini ukweli ni kuwa tozo imegeuka ni zoezi la hasara. Sasa inabidi waje na gia ya kufuata maagizo ya chama.

Kabla ya kuweka hizo tozo kwanini wasingeunda hilo group la experts kuona madhara na faida ya tozo then wafanye simulation ya mawazo waone how it works.
Hao experts bila shaka wangeshauri vizuri nini serikali ifanye kujiongezea mapato au namna nzuri ya kuintroduce hizo tozo.

Madhara ya watu waliojaa theory kichwani na kukosa exposure ni makubwa kuliko tunavyofikiiria.
 
Kuna mushkeli kwenye namna tunavyotawalana. Sheria ya tozo imepitishwa na wawakilishi wa wananchi, viwango na kanuni vikawekwa na wizara, vikaanza kutumika wananchi wakasema hapana, wakaambiwa wao wenyewe ndio walioshauri, wasiotaka wahamie Burundi, wizara na wakuu wa mikoa wakaja pamoja kuonyesha umuhimu wa tozo na faida zilizokwoshapatikana na zijazo, wananchi waliosema hapana hawakunyamaza, chama kikaingilia wakaitaka serikali ifanye namna, ndio ikaundwa tume ya wataalamu.

Wananchi wamesema hapana hawa wataalamu kazi yao nini? Wakisema tozo ziendelee ndio wananchi wataridhia?
